WHAT WE BELIEVE

1.   We believe the Bible is the holy inspired Word of God, and it is the rule and guide of our faith.  God’s Word teaches us how to be all that God intended us to be.

John 17:17 (Jesus Prayed) Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. NLT

Psalm 119:9-16 How can a young man keep his way pure?  By living according to your word.  I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands.  I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.  Praise be to you, O Lord; teach me your decrees.  With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth.  I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches.  I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways.  I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word. NIV

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. NIV

Psalm 119:133 Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me. NIV

2.  We believe in the Trinity, the Father, Son & Holy Spirit.  They are one God eternally existing.

3.  We believe there is only one way to heaven and that way is faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me. NIV

4.  Faith is not about religion; it is about a Relationship with Almighty God.

John 15:13-15  Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.  You are my friends if you do what I command.  I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. NIV

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. NIV

Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. NIV

5.  We believe people need the Lord.  Without a personal relationship with the Lord people can feel a sense of emptiness and they cry out “Is this all there is?”

Matthew 11:28-30 (Jesus said) "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." NIV

John 10:7-10  Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep.  All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.  I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture.  The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. NIV

6.  We are called to Love each other, meaning that we are all equal at the foot of the cross.

Romans 12:10  Be devoted to one another in brotherly love.  Honor one another above yourselves. NIV

Philippians 2:3-5  Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.  Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.  Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: NIV

7.  The Church is the Body of Christ and is meant to be more like a hospital for sinners, than a museum for saints.

Luke 5:29-32  Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them.  But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, "Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and 'sinners'?"  Jesus answered them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.  I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." NIV

8.  All denominations are welcome here.

Acts 10:34-35 Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts people from every nation who fear Him and do what is right.”

Romans 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, NIV
